Adverse Effects
Class IA: Blocks Na+ & K+ channels. "I" is for Intermediate block. Prolongs APD, increasing risk of Torsades.
Class IB: Weakest block. Targets ischemic tissue. Shortens APD. "B" is for Best for post-MI.
Class IC: Strongest Na+ block. APD is unchanged. "C" is for Contradicted post-MI (proarrhythmic).
