Mnemonics & Tips

• Statins: Check LFTs and CK. High yield for rhabdomyolysis.
• Niacin: "Niacin makes you Nasty red." (Prostaglandin mediated - use Aspirin). Causes Hyperuricemia (Gout).
• Fibrates: Best for TGs. Activate PPAR-α. Risk of gallstones (inhibit 7α-hydroxylase).
• Bile Acid Sequestrants: "S" for Sequestrants, "S" for Slight ↑ in TGs.
